There are several internet based services you can use just like Youtube TV.  I currently have it and for the full youtube TV with local channels is $52.00 a month.  Of course you have to have a internet provider so you dont get off the hook totally unless you go with a verizon type cell service box that will give you broadband.  Youtube tv can be used on tablets/phones as well and if you wanted you could hook the tablet or phone (with adapter) to a TV and stream it.  A con you need to think about....the lake reception absolutely sucks in the summer time.  We have complained for years about no service in several areas of the lake...especially on big holidays.  My buddy just got the verizon box and used it this past weekend in his lake place with youtube TV.   Worked fine for a while then would spin and then work and then spin.  Its February and the service is sketchy.  I say all this for this reason, I use the youtube tv but still have the cable internet.  I have 100mb download which is the smaller of the packages and it works fine.  You can cut some of your costs by eliminating the TV package from cable but unless you are in an area with great cell reception its pointless to not have cable internet.  Internet service to send pictures and small videos may work fine, but to stream a TV or multiple TV's the cell option just doesnt seem to be the answer at lake martin.  Hope this helps.

This is a major thorn as we are totally in the internet world in our daily lives and yet we cant get Verizon to get some towers near the lake.  SUCKS!

I will add that youtube TV adapts to your location so when your at your house it uses those local channels and then when you come to the lake it would use those local channels.  However if you want your home local stations, you just decline to use the lake ones when the app asks if you.
