The French health agency now prohibits the use of Hydroxychloroquine as a treatment or part of a treatment regimen for Covid 19 because the unwanted and sometime fatal reactions and after effects of its use outweigh whatever positive impact it has shown on Covid 19.  I suspect at least a few of the 102,000 Americans who are dead today might still been alive had they not taken Trump's wonder drug. 

BTW:  Is your wife taking it for Covid 19?  I hope it is working for her and of course it is still prescribed worldwide including in France as a treatment and/or preventative for ailments for which it has proved through clinical trials and then years of use to be effective.
