I'm not so sure that he was behind it, but perhaps he went along with it at the behest of BLM, now that they are a sponsor of his car.  NASCAR got a lot of publicity out of it too - to change their image as a "racist" sport.  I have a feeling the whole thing was staged.  

As far as the Confederate flag - I think manufacturers should stop making them and selling them.  The Civil War is over.  Just like in Germany - no one there is making or selling Nazi flags.  It's time to put an end to this deliberate kind of race baiting.  You can talk all you want about your "hertiage" and all that other BS, but you know damn well what that flag stands for, and it really has no place in our society now.
