Per this UW and LATimes study and article:

Scenario 3: Universal mask use in public plus states shut down after reaching 8 daily deaths per million

AKA: The Ideal Scenario

If universal mask use, as suggested by Biden is a panacea, then Florida with its most recent mortality # of 72/day would have to increase its daily mortality to 171 to reach 8/million and hence trigger the ideal scenario number requiring a full, statewide, shutdown. A 100/day increase in mortality is highly unlikely, wouldn't you say, with or without the mask mandate.   To me, it suggests that Florida is on the right track with the mandates it has in place at this time.
