but the biggest load is that screed about our system of government protecting minority rights.  Today it more correct to say it guarantees minority rule.  Protecting minority rights might have been an idea that worked reasonably well in 1800 when the largest state was 5 times larger than the smallest, but today when the largest state with 2 senators and 55 EV's is 7 times larger than the 10 smallest states combined with their 20 senators and 32 EV's, it means that today our system of government pretty much guarantees minority rule!  Even when the Republicans had only 40% of the senators back in 2010 those 40 senators represented only 33% of the population.  Today 50 GOP senators are from states with less than 41% of the population. A filibuster stopping legislation effecting 330,000,000 could conceivably be forced by senators representing less than 1.5% of the nation's citizens.  Typical that you consider all this fair since your crowd is part of the minority that rules the senate and most states.  Somebody who robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.
