I've been thinking about this and I wish the media would stop covering Trump.  I liked his policies, but not his personality.  I think he was spot on about a lot of things, but his name calling and petty rants were over the top.  As long as the media keeps covering him and his rants, it gives him encouragement to run again.  I don't think he should.  

First of all, there is his age.  I think we need younger leaders who can move us forward.  Yes, the past was nice but it's gone and the problems are different.  Now, I agreed with Trump on a number of issues and I think he was on the right track to solve some of them.  But I think we need someone that sees the same issues and solutions, but can move us forward in a different way - without the pettiness.  

I don't think that his personality was a good fit.  Yes, he claimed to tell it like it is, but he also dug the divisions deeper because in his heart, he enjoys conflict and squabbles.  He initiates them.  He also always believes he is the smartest person in the room, and I'm not sure that is a good trait to have when you are President.  All this fuss about him really winning the election is bad.  We can all hate Biden and rue the day he was elected, but Trump did not win the election.  And it is his fault he didn't, because he didn't run on his accomplishments.  The election was his to lose and he did, because his didn't run on his accomplishements, and instead ran on pettiness.  

Going forward, we need new blood.  WE need someone that sees the issues, as Trump did, and does something about it, but doesn't start a s*it storm with his/her words.  While it was fun to watch Trump defy the media, in the end it was counterproductive.  There is a reason the phrase "tell them to go to Hell, but make them look forward to the trip", exists.  

As long as the media continues to cover Trump, it give the impression that he has this huge base that no other Republican can overcome.  And if Trump is our candidate in 2024, we will lose, no matter what dummy the Democrats put up there.  

To be sure, I'm not expecting to win over anyone here that thinks Trump was the be-all and end all, but I really don't think it is the way to go.  Because Biden is destroying our country and we need strong leadership to mop up all his failures.
