Have been following this with interest as it looked from the get go that it was a clear case of entrapment.  So it turns out that the leader of the group was a paid FBI informant and he convinced these other idiots to join in on his plan.  Result?  Two acquitted and the remaining hung juries.  They all heard the same evidence and either rightly concluded it was entrapment or could not come to a unanimous decision that it wasn't.   Whether the gov't tries again with the hung jury perps is anyone's guess but that would be good money after bad.

The reason this is interesting is that there are similar issues with the Jan 6th riots.  Between Capital Hill Police waving people inside (some of those have been acquitted) and the crowd being incited by FBI informants and probably agents as well.  To what extent they played a role in the chaos, especially to the extent they did with the Michigan case will hopefully come to light during the various trials.  Interestingly the recent acquittals were bench trials and not jury trials.  Tells you everything you want to know about their faith in a jury of "peers" in DC.  Most of them understand quite well the jury pool in DC and would rather take their chances with a judge.  Can't say that I blame them.
