God help the young boy that was injured last week on the lake. His memories will not be fond of our treasured waters. The responsibility of his accident lies squarely with the irrisponsible boat operator of that day.

Quite frankly, as a longtime boater on these fine waters of Lake Martin, I'm surprized that more acccidents do not happen. The sheer ignorance of common boating ettiquette coupled with the ME ME ME element combine to create a most in-hospitable environment during the summer months.

Nobody waves anymore. You may get the single finger salute, however. This is a recent occourance, (last 5 years).

I know we need traffic for the vendors. Economics make the world go round. However, I can't wait for the start of football season, or the first cold snap, whichever comes first.

My new favorite boating season is the one that does not involve high decible boat noise, incessant PWC operation 24/7 and reckless operation of offshore boats that should be in the gulf of mexico.
