In my opinion Cox certainly used to be a poor offensive manager - I saw his lack of aggressiveness in tight games blow 1 maybe 2 world series. Seems like a very good personnel manager though. Dang sure has the best pitching coaching.

He is improving though and at least going by the percentages in most situations. In recent years I have almost come 360 degrees and think he may be the greatest coach in the world but just doesn't have the talent to win the big ones. Only one way to find out and that's not going to happen.

My best manager list is short; Jim Leyland is tops, Torre is close.
