Seems like I hit a nerve. Look, I've lived and boated on the Gulf Coast for thirty years. Got a good laugh a couple of years ago watching a go-fast boat (38 footer) running about 55-60 come to a dead stop in about 100 feet when he failed to realize the water was a tad shallow. Not only did he get stuck in the mud, he raised his outdrives and gunned the engines, filling them with mud and ruining both--he did shoot up a nice rooster tail of black mud until he destroyed the engines.

When he decided to get out of the boat he stood in knee deep mud and had to wait for high tide to be towed away. All the cuties were really inpressed. By the way, it was the owner's first venture into salt water--he was a lake go-fast wonder.

Believe it or not, I love the sound of these boats; love riding in one in waves, but just don't see their purpose on the lake. Don't get your feelings hurt--just my opinon.
