I grew up fishing off of the dock with doughballs, and I still do so. I use a little micro light outfit with two pound line and a number six hook and no weight. I started dabbing the doughball with a garlic scented Spike it red dye marker this year, and the fish really hammer it. I catch mostly bream and catfish, although I caught a nice bass earlier this year. Sometimes, something really big swims by. Once, I spent close to two hours fighting a rather large golden bonefish that I had seen swimming around.
