Jim, if the question bothers you--just stay out of it...you are in no way obligated to respond. Quite frankly, it would be interesting to hear how others have approached the situation. I tried the asphalt shingle bit a few years ago but did not work so well. There are commercial strips you can get to go on the steps but I do not know if it is a practical solution....I am thinking that a good outdoor carpet firmly affixed to the steps might be a good solution but I have never tried it.......
