Jim, I agree with your father’s quote 100%! That is why I shop for value, and not price. Here are some examples.

I have a 1989 BMW that is still going strong and drives better than most new cars......could of purchased several others for less, but I'm sure I'd be on my 3rd or 4th by now to get the same ride and enjoyment, and I would have spent far more.

I have a 1985 John Deere Lawn tractor. Still going strong. My neighbor has had 2 Craftsman and a Murray (that’s on its last leg) in the same time frame; My JD cost double new, but I have spent far less on equipment and repairs.

I've had similar experiences with boats, chain saws, furniture, homes, stocks, property, building material, and more.

If a person can get a good price on the best products, they won't be sorry.....assuming they take care of what they have. If you do your homework, you can enjoy high quality and it will not cost more.
