For years normal letdown started right after July 4th. week and filling started Febuary 18th. or there abouts. Now because of waterwars it seems an effort is being made to keep the summer pool longer and start spring refilling earlier ( this year ). The hurricane season has a lot of effect on the schedule and during the last two hurricanes you have witnessed this. The lake was dropped prior to the hurricane rains even though we didn't get hit near as severely as it was anticipated ( thank God ). I like the winter pool to ficitate repairs and the fishing is good. I could also stand a steady full pool ( 490' ) year round. It will soon be this way or we might have drawdowns like on Lake Harding every two years. What ever is decided I'm sure will be determined by the almighty political dollar. Peace.
