I looked at both the "Dish Network" & "DirecTV" systems. The Dish Network said they could provide the digital, High Definition and local channels. They came to the house with a 3 foot antenna that was to heavy to put on a house and said they needed a clear area without any trees. Need-less to say they gave up and went away.

DirecTV came with an oval antenna with three heads that is about 20 inches across and they mounted it on the roof line. Looking at where it is pointed I would say that it looks through the trees. I get excellent pictures and only have a problem during an electrical storm. I have the basic package, High Definition package and local channels out of New York and Los Angeles for $60 per month. If we want Montgomery local news we use an air antenna and also get good pictures.
