I had read some Georgia writer stating that Aromashodu had touched the ball while either touching the pylon or standing on the endzone side marker. I had recorded the game and have since watched the replay dozens of times. He only touched the ball once while he was in mid-stride--neither foot touching anything that would have triggered a touchback. Oddly enough, it was that one touch that appeared to alter
the course of the ball just enough to keep it from going out through the side of the end zone. It actually appeared that he was intentionally guiding the ball back into the end zone although, more likely, just trying to regain possession. Another strange thing about that 4th down rule is that
the ball carrier who fumbles is eligible to recover even if the ball is advanced forward. No doubt that, without Courtney being johnny-on-the-spot, Georgia wins that game.

The rule should be changed to apply only to those situations where the
ball has not been advanced across the first down mark....worked kinda nice for AU Sat. nite, however!
