Assuming the bill passes, everyone can be happy, even with the changes. How? Read on.

First, with the big boats (and their waves) gone, the lake can once again be enjoyed by the hundreds of those with normal-sized boats who have been forced to become land-lubbers. These boaters will be out on the lake, buying gas, eating out, etc. So, Don is happy; he is making more money on gas, because, as he has told us, the "big boat" owners don't spend money on gas.

But, he'll be losing money with his wet slips, since those big boats have to leave. Or do they? Well, if they violate the length rule, yes. But if they violate the HP rule? Just rebuild the engines, so that they are less than 500 horsepower! ANd who better to do that than CATBOAT and his employees; guys who thought they were out of a job are now in the business of engine adjustment.

So the small-boaters are happy, because they can once again enjoy the lake. Don is happy, because he's making as much money from the wet slips as he was, and even MORE money on gas sales. CATBOAT and co. are happy, because they're all still employed. ANd the cruiser-owners are happy, because nothing has changed except the horsepower of their boats, which doesn't matter because-- as we've been told-- they never get out into the lake anyway.

Problem solved! Now e can get back to worrying about all those alligator attacks that so maky lake residents seem to fear.
