I just did a free word search on the forum. The word I searched was "greed". Between 3/11/06 and today there are 20 posts containing the word greed. I didn't do "greedy" cuz I dont have time to eleminate posts that have both. I have made my opinion clear on this issue. I feel the way I do for personal reasons and I wont pretend to hide behind wakes, noise and erosion. But I have my reasons. Like feb, I will stand behind them. If we disagree, it means we disagree on THIS issue. We may and probably do agree on many more. It doesn't mean I hate you or want to see harm, (be it physical, financial or emotional) done to you or yours.

I do like to 'stir the puddin' sometimes. I love a good debate and sometimes even an argument. Heck, I will even take a position I may not believe for the sake of a 'good argument'. Now with all that being said, can somebody PLEASE explain to me EXACTLY how this new law (as it surely will be) is based on greed. The land in question will sell, with or without the new law. Maybe not to these GA developers, but to someone. I for one think that if it brings the purported development to the area it will be a GREAT thing. How many of you have ever even BEEN to Clay county. This will be the biggest thing that will ever happen there. It is very rural and some might even say 'blighted'. I am sure the unemployment is higher than average. I know for a FACT that illiteracy in the county is rampant. This will bring JOBS to an area that has no other major source of employment for the citizens. Jobs are a good thing guys. I am sure the developers are rich, and will most likely get richer. That is capitolism my freinds. So they are 'greedy' for doing what they do for a living. Are you 'greedy' because you get up and go to your job. NO. You are doing what you can to provide for your family.

We all have our opinions. Some are more passionate about them than others, but none the less each is intitled to his own. Growth is a good thing guys, but it MUST be controlled. I doubt ANY of you would want to buy a house in a subdivision that did not have covenants and restricitons. Same thing happening here, but on a larger scale. If you find a house you like, you check out the covenants. If you can't live by them, you look elsewhere. SIMPLE.

Just my opinion, and I am sure that many of you think it is wrong.

And BTW-- I say surely will become law because Gov. Riley is from Clay county. Has HUGE farm there. Which way ya think he is gonna go.

FLAME ON!!
