Everyone already knows I supported the new law. So I will stir the pudding a little in a different direction.
Regardless of what size boat or house or any other material things one may have, the issue to me is ATTITUDE. We have seen some of the attitudes from folks on the other side....and it is not a pretty sight to me. Its the ME ME ME attitude. Forget everybody else, I want to do this, so to heck with you.
I guess the one thing that illustrates the attitude to me is referring to a LANDMARK that has been around since the inception of the lake by a new 'name'. I don't remeber who, but one of the johnny come lately crowd dubbed it 'Longkneck Isand'. The name of the island is, always has been and always will be.....SAND ISLAND! A wonderful place for family and friends to gather. I've been doing it for 30 years.
You guys are free to call it whatever you like, but to me it shows the 'attitude' that bothers some of us 'oldtimers' . The, to heck with tradition, I'm here now and I want to call it what I want to call it, and it's all about me.
Look at any map and you will see that it is a named island, why not call it what it is?
Just wanted to get that off my chest.
