Boat ban may not have helped, but our local paper listed several Alabama senators who collectively gave $270,000 to Dial's opponent. These are sitting senators. Curious. Why would they want him out? Dial claims he stepped on some toes by opposing pork payouts from some of these senators to some of their powerful constitutents. Maybe he was partly the victim of powerful interest in the legislature.
