Oh I completely agree. When we realized we were going to have to pay capital gains tax we raised the price of our place so we could get what we really wanted after the taxes and we got it. Cash sale to boot! If we had waited until this year to buy something we wouldn't have been able to afford a bigger place because the prices have increased so much since last fall. The place we bought we got it for $36,000 less than the appraisal. We got our county tax appraisal a couple weeks ago and their appraisal is only $10,000 less than the real estate appraisal. I guess that means our property has really gone up in value over the last 10 months?
