Great idea JohnGalt, thanks for the prompt.....glad for AU bowl trip....wish UA the best in their quest to find another Bear........glad to see my Dawgs recover some amount of pride with their bowl trip..........but more than anything...............just glad to be an American with the freedom to enjoy our liberties. While I don't need the "approval" of non-Americans to feel good about my place of birth....had a great experience today that reminded me of how lucky we are. Had a young Indian couple (by way of Bahrain, Australia and India) drop by my house to look at an auto I have for sale. They have been in Atlanta less than 3weeks, dealing with all the difficulties that entails, including putting their 2 young children in school, and finding a place to rent for the short time. Our conversation quickly covered the gamut of my price for the auto to their wish for a posting here for longer than a 1 year term so they could buy a home and enjoy what our country has to offer. It came up more than once how they hoped that Americans knew how fortunate we are to have such a great place to live, work and pursue our dreams. I was about ready to give him the car......but I over came the urge! Just a huge reminder to me that we cannot EVER surrender to the cynics of the world about the good of our country as a reflection of the American character. Off the soap box...next?
