Most boys reel in the bait too fast. If I am drifting, I have them cast to the downwind side of the boat to slow the bait through the water speed.

All should know that if a lure is being pulled towards you and there is a wind, which is most of the time, the line will have a belly to it.

If the belly tightens up, you have a bite. Most important in Crappie fishing with a tube jig.

Try floting live minnows about 5 feet down under a bobber and drift anywhere.
