My advice is to stick to the middle part of the lake as much as possible. Most of the hazards are closer to the shore, and many of them will not have warning buoys on them because they are usually covered by several feet of water during the summer. I am thinking in particular about a rock near our cabin up past Real Island. This rock is probably about 50 yards offshore on a point, but you wouldn't know it was there unless you knew the lake at winter pool. I expect it to start grabbing props when the level drops to the 484 range. Water clarity will not be good on the weekends, either, so it will be harder to see a rock lurking just under the surface. Also, don't go too far back into the creeks. They are silted up at the 480 level in the backs, so you may think you are in deep water, but in fact it is much shallower. The area up Little Kowaliga by Little Steel Bridge is like that.
