GA. Power and AL power are both owned by the same parent company, Southern Company. You can bet that the lakes are being managed in such a way to derive the greatest benefit to BOTH states and stay within the 'guidelines'. Now we can debate till the water comes back about whether those guidelines are appropriate or not, but they are still the guidelines in force as of today.

As to 'water wars', if it has been settled it is the best kept secret I have ever known in my lifetime. It would have to be public knowledge and you can bet there is a lot of 'public' paying a lot of attention to the matter.

Here is a challenge for some of you guys that like to research such things... see if you can find any public statement made by Southern Company officials in regards to the 'water wars'. I have NEVER seen a published position on the issue put out by SOCO. Maybe a blurb of a non-statement, but no official statement of position on the issue. I have not been following as close in the last year or so, but till that time I hadn't seen it. My gut tells me that there will be no settlement without SOCO putting their two cents worth in.
