I used Behr stain/sealer on mine. I hate it because it was a...are ya ready for this...bear to put on. I personally think it looks awful but others in the house love it. I got out voted. It looks good from a distance but up close, it's bad.

But on the good side, I don't have to do it again for 3 years. I always thought Tompson's was the best stuff but the folks that know about such things tell me that Tompsons is only good for a few months.

If I had it to do again, I would use a clear sealer, no stain.
