To everyone concerned about the APC water level management in the Coosa River System. I am new to this site so this may be old news to some of you; however, I have written a letter to all of our local, State, and Federal Representatives regarding this issue. I received a letter from the Department of Conservation and Natural Recourses Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division. Governor Riley referred my letter to them for a response and so far this is the only response I have received. I was given many possible explanations for the water level issues, but in particular that Gaston Steam Plant is on Lay Lake and APC needs water flow to be able to meet temperature discharge requirements or power production at the plant would have to be reduced or temporarily stopped. I was also referred to APC Environmental Affairs office in Birmingham for further information. In addition it seems that APC has filed for relicensing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). APC has filed their operations plan in their license application with the FERC. The FERC will be announcing a public comment period very soon concerning the application. We will have an opportunity at that time to provide comments.
Review the operations information covered in the relicensing on the web address.

By the way, I checked out the Logan Martin Lake Protection Association web site lmlpa.org and asked how to join, get involved, etc. and have received no response.
