I too went and also arrived after the openning bell, I was on the back row in the middle sort of close to the table.

I basically have to agree with everything that RBS had to say.

I will add that APCO was very addement about getting everyone on the lake within the guidelines for piers and boathouses on the lake. He specifically said that if you currently are outside of those guidelines and a flood, fire. wind or temites destroy your structure you will only be able to rebuild within the current guidelines, not what you previously had.

One gentleman that was in front of me suggested that pier guidelines should be on a case by case situation. he implied that he was at the end of the slough and even when we are at full pool he only has 2 ft of water and needs a longer (outside the guidelines) pier to reach deep water. basically APCO shut him down by saying he should have bought another lot. Rude but in my opinion sloughs should have different rules than the main channel. If someone owns all of the property in any given slough, who is APCO to say he cannot build what he wants.

The gentleman and women that represented APCO did imply that most rules that are in place today were created long ago. The woman even implied so long ago that anyone she has asked did not remember how long ago. To me anything that involves rules created in a different era should be updated every 25 years or so to keep with the times and current situations. If some rules were created 30 years ago as he implied, a group of homeowners, business owners and APCO should get together and see why these rules were created and if they sshould be updated.

Basically I saw many people that had questions about what was going on around the lake and thought this gentleman was going to solve all of the problems. People had concerns about new developments around the lake, water levels (current and future) and how and where to get relevant information when needed. From what I understand this guy was "THE MAN" when it comes to permitting around the lake.

He said Permits have to be issued for even the replacement of decking or roof shingles. He implied they would be free for simple repairs but who knows when you actually apply for one.

One gentleman in the Audience implied that it was his property and APCO has no right to restrict what he wants to do. APCO basically said if we can legally flood it we can dictate what you can do in that part of the lake.

I do have a copy of the information that they passed out. Monday I can fax or email to anyone who would like one.

All of the information is vague on the sheet. It gives you the wrong website name www.alapower.com. Everyone should have the link from these pages and if you dont let me know and I will send it to you. It also gives you addresses and names for contact.

Sorry to ramble...................
