I don't post here to win friends and influence people. I couldn't care less whether some of these folks 'like' me or not. The negatives come mostly from one group of folks that I 'outed' last year as to their hidden agendas. It is no secret that most of the founding members of HOBO's hate me. They have been led down that path by one or two of their leaders whom I exposed as hypocrits, liars, and in one case an overt racist over the past years. They have tried to have me banned, ostricized and have even threatened me with bodily harm, yet I am still here. I have been posting here longer than anyone else and have NO intentions of stopping. Only death will stop me, mine or the forums. I have NEVER been asked by Bruce to stop posting. A couple of my detractors cannot HONESTLY make that claim.
I am the voice of the 'common guy'. Something that has been waining in the last decade or so as property values have soared. Many wealthy 'eletists' have moved in and tried to take over the lake. Folks that have nothing but disdain for the 'locals' and think they know best how to run things here. Folks who build mini mansions and starter castles as second homes to 'get away form it all', but bring it all with them when they come. Folks who have wealth and power in their communities want to come here half dozen weekends a year and tell everybody else how it should and will be. Folks who think that THEIR recreation is more important than others jobs who happen to live downstream. Folks who think they know more about how to manage the lakes and waterways of Alabama better than APCO. Folks who want to tell others what and how to build. Some that want to stop ALL building and for Gods sake don't cut a tree!! Folks who worry about dog poop washing into the lake from the yards ( I have to say that one really makes me LOL). It is a lake people, fish f*** in it!!!! Folks that have come here solely for the soaring property values so they can flip a few and get rich. And probably about 1/2 of all the real estate agents in the southeast, all of them claiming they know the lake best. I have never bought or sold a piece of property that was not mine, but I will put my knowledge of the lake up against all of them en mass, except John C. ( I have never met him but have grown to admire and repsect him through this forum)
I was born in 1959 and spent my first family vacation at Wind Creek in the summer of 59. I have been here EVERY YEAR SINCE. Hopefully I will die right here in the same house I am sitting in now (not soon enough for some of you I know). Negative 27, like I give a rats ass. Why not mention the 18 ignors too? I know why. Because you are probably one of the ones that takes me off iggy to see what I post, but them put me back on iggy when you log out. All that trouble so if trouble arises some can point to that as justification for asking Bruce to ban me. How's that working out for ya? If you are really so worried about how many posts I make, and what I have said that pisses folks off so much, email me and I will send you a list of as many different monikers as I can remeber using in the past. We didn't used to have registration, anyone could post using any name. I used several for a short time, just because it got under a couple of folks skin. We can even go back into the 90's when me and several 'internet friends' used the forum to stay in touch and play word games with each other.
I will get off my soapbox now. And yes Mav I did wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Dam telephone, and the wrong number to boot. I will probably be up half the night now
