You are on a very good lake or Crappie. Only a couple of things to remember:

1 - Timing - pre-spawning time (when they usually bite like crazy) on martin is usually sometime in May and Oct - got to catch the 2-3 week window right.

2 - location - Mostly piles of submerged trees - many people sink xmas trees which are excellent. If you have a dock, put the trees out.

3 - bait - jigs or minnows - I find jigs to be less hassle and cheaper.

4 - Jig technique (less important if you catch them pre-spawning) - reel slowly (keep changing til you find the right depth), or light jerking motion that makes jig dance.

You can catch them anytime, but they tend to be less aggressive and deeper when not feeding pre-spawn.

Best eating fish in the world is Martin Crappie. Good luck.
