depends if your fishing from a boat / land..pier.....if fishing from a boat i like to vertical fish deep tops..once you find the depth the fish are biting you will be able to catch a lot of fish......fishing shallow water from boat i usually cast..... when fishing from the pier i use a cork rig for minnows and sometimes jigs.....this time of year when the water is not full pool i use the cork rig with the jig to keep from hanging up so much in return catching a lot of fish this way.....i use a 1/16 oz jig behind a cork(sometimes weighted cork depending on where i need to cast...i always keep some in the box)cast past the tops/ structure then bring across the structure with slow retrieve adding a twitch to your rod tip for more action to the jig....if this does not work go to what i call a stop and go retrieve....when you stop the jig will fall triggering strikes...try this out you should have good sucess....i am planning on fishing next weekend so yall go out fish this week and tell me if there biting....wet one!
