My computer read 50, my buddies read 52. At 60 to 80 feet i have read 54 degrees in dead summer, and late summer. I have found that some people never get comfortable diving that deep in the lake, as the limited visability takes a little while to get use to.

I have made deeper dives in Kowaliga bay, and around the rock. I wear a 5 mil wetsuit with hood and gloves. It is cold but I warm up during my surface intervals. If the water is that cold, I usually only do 30 minute dives to keep from getting too cold. As you stated, during the summer months in the cold water your body is warmed during the safety stop (with 5 mil wetsuit...).

I am looking forward to diving Sandy creek area, and the others mentioned (boardwalk area). The rocky shore on the west side of the outcripping near Anchor Bay is a good place to dive also.... If you don't mind limited vis (typical lake dive).
