Forget the $20/25 dollar models at BassPro and Overtons. Mine lasted 1 year and then leaked big time.
My new light seems to be working well. Can't use it on a boat at night, but it is anchored on the bottom off the dock. 50 watts, shines straight up. Works at 12vdc from the low voltage light system on the dock with timer. The light is copper, sealed, designed for use in a landscape pond. Sells for around $55 at Lowes/Home Depot.
When it comes on at dusk, minnows start coming by the thousands, then large shadows start showing up, flashing thru the edges.
