For years I have been saying that ethanol use will consume more gasoline and raise food prices. This scam is politically motivated as an increase in farmer subsidies. (Large farms). We will all pay the price in increased corn and food costs.

When using ethanol + gasoline in our cars the mileage will decrease causing us to purchase more gallons. With E-15 our mileage is decreased by 15% which means that we will end up buying the same amount of gasoline plus we also buy the ethanol. As part of the distillation process of making the ethanol the most efficient power source is oil. Overall we are worse off.

I also note that Tme magazine ran an article on this scam.
