When you are driving the boat, it is best that you make it a "HABIT" to connect your kill switch to your shorts/life jacket each and every time. You don't have to get thrown overboard, only pitched/walk away from the helm and "Poof" noone is in control, even if at idle speed. You could run over a person, or hit another boat. Kinda like a safety belt. Just put it on. My .02 worth.
