I think it is actaully some king of shiner. I get them at Siggers (was Jay's Junction and before that it was Siggers) in Dadeville/Jacksons Gap. I have never had any luck with the Crappie biting these near the light. I think they can see the fishing line and/or hook. I know the bream can see it because they nip at the fishing line thinking it's soemthing to eat. Try backing off the light 10 to 15 feet and fishing the dark area around the light.
