It reads like you have it covered. Check out the attached link for good info on regulations. You are fine with a boat registered "out of state" without any paperwork what so ever, up to 45 days a year, maybe? Obviously, bring your LA DL, road drivers license, I mean. I have a place on LM and live in GA, for now. When I registered the boat in AL because it lives there now, they looked at me like I was crazy and didn't need to register there. I gave up a 10 year boat registration in GA for one in AL that expires in August 2008, LOL. In addition, I took the AL Boaters License exam on line, and the Marine police told me to just save it till I moved and got my AL DL. So, with the equipment you listed, you are good to go. Oh yeah, drive with your eyes wide open. As on every body of water I have ever navigated, most folks don't know the rules of the "road" on water, or choose to ignore them. If you do know the rules, be prepared to give way a lot when you shouldn't have to. Last weekend, I saw a pontoon with the red and green bow lights reversed and on the wrong side.
Anyway, Lake Martin is one of the finest bodies of water in the world. Prepare to enjoy yourself!
