DUELING LINKS AWARD goes to Mythbuster. 2008 got off to a typical weird start on the forum when
this thread turned into a war of links when no fewer than 9 links were posted , each of which were offered
to bolster the posters position. Just when things were about to get out of hand, Mythbuster jumped into the
fray and apparently doused the fire. How did he do it? YET ANOTHER LINK!
CHOPPIN' BROCCOL-A-UH AWARD goes to Rude Evin for his "Git-er-dun" post to the Jokes Forum in
January. Rude gave us all a great new idea of how to parlay the services of the Sheriff's Dept. into a birthday gift for your buddy. Just tell them that he is hiding his Marijuana in his firewood out back..and you know the rest of the story. Creative, Rude, but what if your friend REALLY IS hiding it there?
GROSSEST JOKE AWARD ....Finalists for this one are Rude Evin for "KY JELLY" joke and Nautiminded for "Daddy's Gonna Eat Your Fingers" ...... and the winner is Nautiminded for "Daddy's Gonna Eat Your Fingers".......As gross-out jokes go, this one is FINGER-LICKING GOOD!
SUPER-CHAUFFER AWARD goes to Gabby who slipped into the Off-Topics Forum in early April, linked us to a game (bloxorx) and drove us all crazy! As was noted in the thread, definitely a short trip
for some!

MOST OUTRAGEOUS THREAD AWARD goes to Maverick’s June 13 post “Did Somebody Say Bumpers?”....This one started on a slippery slope and went downhill...and FAST! Mav may want to lay
the blame for this at the feet of Tallyman, who brought up the subject the day before.
PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE AWARD ...no contest here as HubCap gave us a motto to live by. His July post
to the Jokes Forum advises ...and I quote, "Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or
play with it, Pee on it and walk away!" My sincere apologies to anyone who might have been offended by
that one....just couldn't resist...guess it's just a man thing...mostly.
VISIONS OF SUGARPLUMS AWARD goes to Jlazc for suggesting that Mav and Rude were seen at
'the Rock" trying to give out free HOT DOGS wearing nothing but a THONG! Those are visions that you
live your whole life hoping will never 'dance through your head' ! ...or as Jlazc stated it so succinctly, "Hot Dogs and thongs just ain't right!"
Don't flush those weenie images just yet... more to come...
EVOLVED WEENIES AND FLOTSAM AWARD goes to Feb as he made reference (August 'flotsam' thread) to a "fully digested hot dog"....now, Feb, I am still trying to wrap my mind's eye around that one!
CHALLENGE OF THE ISLANDS AWARD goes to the Hot Dog Chef giving out the most weenie dogs on the two islands this past summer. Having visited both islands, I feel qualified to judge this.....and it was extremely close....Until news broke of this 'hot dog and thongs" incident at the rock....then it got one-sided in a hurry...and I ain't gonna say no more. However, I will agree to be Judge again summer '09 with assurances that proper dress is required...WAIT..NEWS FLASH...Gone Fishing may have just saved their
reputation with his post that the 'sightings' at da Rock was really just "stripes around 2 buoys"!
WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' BADGES AWARD goes to Pontoonfisher for his August 20 post. In a very sad thread , Old Blue Chair reduced many to tears with his "look into my eyes" post. However moved
Pontoonfisher might have been, he promptly ordered Old Blue Chair to "put that wacky weed down and step away from the computer"!
GEORGE COSTANZA SHRINKAGE AWARD goes to Maddog for his November swim. Now, Maddog, if you will take a swim in January, we will upgrade that to a SIGNIFICANT SHRINKAGE award!
HOW DID I MISS THAT AWARD goes to Lamont in referring to certain forum members. In his May 10 post offering 'full disclosure', Lamont admitted that they provided a great deal of entertainment to the forum in a "Talladega Nascar pile-up kinda way" ! Very descriptive... just wonder if Webster has
a single word meaning the same thing....naaaah, don't think so...Hey, Lamont, I believe you could also
use that description for your debacle with Charter....
Now on a slightly more serious note....
SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD goes to Stripernut who has pumped new life into the Lake Martin Fishing Forum by sharing his considerable knowledge of Striper fishing both on the forum and through his
guide service....heck of a nice guy , too. He has done for the Fishing Forum what Cat does for the Boat Maintenance Forum.
MARCH MADNESS AWARD goes to John Galt and Polar who finished in a tie for the Bracket Challenge...also, to Geno, Lakeman, and TWC for taking Sweet 16 honors.
FOOTBALL CHALLENGE AWARD goes to Bamabob for exceptional picking skills in the regular season
football pool. Kudos as well to Maverick and Talisi for finishing just a nose behind.
A sincere thank you is in order for the important work being done by Lake Watch, H.O.B.O, and Citizens for Good Government. Also, congratulations to Mike Ingram, the newly-elected Mayor of Dadeville. Mike is bright, young, and energetic and, I believe, will prove to be a real friend of Lake Martin.
Well, Jim, you said my post last year was a 12 pack job...now this one has gone way too long also....can you
say BAKER'S DOZEN!.....HAPPY NEW YEAR!
