That is nuts, but I like to see people having fun... That sport is gaining popularity.

Speaking of parachuting, are you folks hearing a lot about that Marcus Schrenker in the news down there?
Apparently he intended the plane to go out into the gulf and he would have been considered lost at sea, at least for a while. I've given this a lot of thought today because I'm a pilot and have thought about how one would go about bailing out of an airplane that they were flying. Especially a Piper-PA-46 Malibu Meridian that cruises about 220 knots (about 250 MPH). He would have had to slow down to get out of the plane, thereby increasing the time to get to the gulf coast. Being on autopilot, the plane would remain at the speed he set at the jump unless that plane has programmable autopilot unlike any I'm familiar with (other pilots tell me). The plane almost made it, but he miscalculated time and fuel. I guess that one would have been a Darwin awards candidate if he had killed himself. And to parachute at night... That is nuts too.
