Plame was a CIA operative. She was employed by the Operations Directorate of the CIA. She trained as an operative. I don't think she was undercover at the time that all this took place, but she was an operative. The point is this -- when you have been an operative, you have contacts that are in jeopardy from past associations. It's not just the operative that is at risk, but also their past contacts. And the fact that she had been undercover is still a classified piece of information.
What Libby did was a breech of security. Even if classified information appears in open sources, it is still classified and confirming it is not permitted. He was nothing more than Cheney's flunkie. Now Cheney's history and Libby gets to live with the consequences of being Cheney's flunkie.

But, you guys just continue on with your retoric and believing what you want. In your lifetime, the truth about all of this will come out. But for now, the point is moot. It is now Presdient Barrack Obama. YES WE CAN! And we will.
