Charter appears to be going broke. I missed interest payments last week and does not have sufficient funds or cash flow to make upcomming payments. Their stock is selling for 8 cents.

Abitibi Bowater (they now own the paper mill and pulp plant in Childersburg) is in similar shape. Their stock is selling for about half a buck.

Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. is also going broke. Their stock is selling for 4 cents last week.
