This was on the news the other night. I think Hilary was questioned about during the confirmation hearing.
Needless to say, it's pretty surprising that Bill had all these Middle East donors -- makes you wonder what they are getting out of it since he is not a registered lobbyist - at least I don't think he is. Theoretically, they are all "friendly" countries to the US, although it's certainly possible to debate it.

Is there an appearance of a Conflict of Interest? Yes, I think there is. Will this actually influence Hilary -- don't know. Somehow I doubt it. She seems like a pretty strong personality in her own right and I have a feeling she does her own thing whether Bill likes it or not. But normally, where there is a potential for conflict of interest, the individual usually recuses themselves from the decision process. I thought that elected and appointed officials had to file the same financial disclousre statements that I and my colleagues had to file yearly. She and Bill must have their financials completely segregated. .
It definitely an unprecedented situation whether she is a Senator or SecState. I'm rather surprised that they waited until her SecState nomination to make this an issue. I don't like Hilary so I can't defend her.
