to get exemption, you must get an elevation certificate from a surveyor [about $350] , showing how far above base flood elevation your structure is; then, submit that with about 12 pages of forms & a non-refundable $400 check to fema--hopefully, in 4-6 months you may get a review; ichecked my propertylast week & it was not in flood area, but one across street is
