My service has actually been better with Charter than AT&T. Sound is more clear with better modulation. Noticed yesterday's B'ham News had an AT&T ad calling attention to Charter's coming Chapter 11 by saying that at least ATT will still be in business.

Two limitations with Charter: 911 works but 911 service will not be able to locate the caller's location auromatically. And if you lose power at your house you lose telephone service. However, you will still be listed in the phone directory.

Wish ATT would bring in their TV cable, then maybe competition would bring prices down.
