I agree to some point. I do think a lot of the Mexicans are willing to work hard for money.

I don't know if you have kids, but how are you teaching your kids work ethic? Do you make them earn their cell phone, cars, IPODs or whatever else kids want these days? Do they have summer jobs? Do they do yardwork and chores?

I agree that people need to understand that things don't just come because you expect things to be handed to you. That you are responsible to work for things. But then I look at my nieces and nephews. Some of them are doing just great, but some of them have had so many career starts at jobs that they only work until it becomes too hard... like having to get up in the morning and being expected to actually go to work when you don't feel like it. My one niece is 10 -- she has weekly mani/pedi appointments, scheduled playdates and weekly trips to the mall.

I'm wondering what kind of work ethic is being taught to all those kids growing up with affluent parents.
