Shumaker is a very good brand. 6/12 volt, automatic shut off with various amp charge is the best ( 2,6,10 ect. ). Always disconnect battery from boat etc before charging. If you don't, risk damaging charging system of boat etc. This type of charger will shut off when battery is fully charged, then kick back on when needed. Once fully charged, I unhook the charger. Don't hook battery back up to boat, unless ready to use for the season.
