While making a compelling argument, I think you are missing my point. Are you familiar with Sarbanes Oxley? CEOs cannot hide behind the excuse that they paid professionals who should know financial law to accomplish their accounting if they submit fraudulent information. If CEOs can’t use ignorance of the law as an excuse, how can the President? As the Commander In Chief, the President is ultimately responsible for the actions of those below him. How are those advisors who serve below him not to be considered as having conflict of interest? I am talking about a world court opinion, not an American opinion. My point was that Obama is opening up the possibility with publicly stating this opinion.
