A shad tank may be a good idea. That way you won't be so dependent on when they are open. Shad can live for several days in one of these tanks. The link is the best of the best for shad tanks. It includes a filtration system and aerator. Just fill the tank with tap water, throw in a little rock salt, pour in some declorinator (can get it at Walmart) and you can keep shad alive for 3 days in this thing.
