Am I the only person that sees this statement as a total contradicition from one sentence to the next:

Mr. Specter continued: "If we had pursued what President Nixon declared in 1970 as the war on cancer, we would have cured many strains. I think Jack Kemp would be alive today. And that research has saved or prolonged many lives, including mine."

Only a democrat can get away with doublespeak like this. This man is a joke. At 79 he should be spending time with family, not seeking a 6th term. TERM LIMITS NOW!! Or at the very least a mandatory retirement age for elected office. They (the congress) put mandoatory retirement on others, how about themselves.
