Most people in this country work to be rewarded - for most of us, that reward is money. The reason so many MD's are not Medicare assigned is that the Government does not give providers what they consider to be worthwhile to treat patients. If someone goes to school for eight or more years, assumes responsibility for the lives of others, pays malpractice insurance premiums that would bankrupt most of the citizens of this country - I think they should be well-paid. I understand that we have issues that need to be addressed with regards to healthcare, but equalizing everyone on a lower level makes no sense. It is about like raising the price of carbon energy prices to the point that green choices are economical, instead of working to lower the costs of green.
